The Business & Entrepreneurship track caters to the range of emerging or aspiring entrepreneurs who expect to take on leadership roles within the private sector or build their own business ventures on the continent.
Purpose of the track
The Business & Entrepreneurship track is intended to empower young leaders with essential tools, skills, and values to start and grow successful businesses. The track will empower participants to start a business and strengthen their ability to run one. At the end of the program, participants will engage in a pitch presentation of a business idea, to start or strengthen a business initiative.

Design

The Business & Entrepreneurship track is designed to provide participants with an understanding of the distinct challenges and abundant opportunities that Africa offers to entrepreneurs. Participants will appreciate the unique African context and recognize the opportunities for innovative businesses in their communities and countries. The Business & Entrepreneurship track exposes participants to the Business Model Canvas as a framework for building and growing their business initiatives.

Targeted Countries

Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cote D'Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, The Gambia and Togo.

This track is for you if:

  • You have an idea for a viable, sustainable business; you have thought this idea through carefully and are ready to bring it into reality in your community, but you do not know how to start.
  • You are personally running a self-owned business initiative in your local community, and you want to grow it into a bigger and more sustainable business that will employ other youth in Africa.
  • You want to connect with other young Africans in the industry for business collaboration and synergy.
  • You see business as a medium for bringing sustainable and transformational change to your community.
