From November 15 to 21, YALI RLC  South Africa played host to the YALI Learning Summit. This week-long event brought together the entire YALI ecosystem, including the four Regional Leadership Centres (RLCs), USAID, James Madison University, YALI LL, host institutions, and other key partners. The theme, “Catalyzing Innovation: Charting Future Fit Practices”, highlighted our commitment to fostering efficiency and innovation.

The Summit’s theme underscored a forward-looking approach to equip YALI RLCs and alumni with the necessary tools, strategies, and mindset to thrive in a dynamic world. We focused on driving innovative practices and technologies within the YALI RLCs, with an emphasis on future trends and sustainable impact.

The Summit kicked off on an exciting note, with selected alumni sharing their achievements and challenges. These discussions provided key insights into strengthening alumni chapters. Throughout the week, the event featured a blend of music, meditation, reflections, and art to help navigate complex issues.

In the closing sessions, various working groups from the RLCs distilled the lessons learned into an action plan for 2025. This plan aims to enhance our technological infrastructure, harmonize efforts across the RLCs and YALI Africa, and support YALI alumni in reaching their goals.

The YALI Learning Summit was an unforgettable experience, providing RLC staff an invaluable opportunity to collaborate and engage with peers from other centers. We look forward to seeing the innovative strategies and partnerships born from this summit making a lasting impact in the year ahead.
